NWCA has partnerships with various Indigenous youth programs and communities that allow for published writers to help guide newer authors and writing enthusiasts to hone their craft. We try to partner each budding author with one of our members when possible, or send representatives as a group to work with creative writing classrooms.
This is one of our favorite programming options. NWCA sends representatives to reservations, Indigenous gatherings, and tribal school districts to create elementary age literacy and creative writing events. Since the majority of our members are educators, we love to share our knowledge within tribal communities.
NWCA is committed to offering workshops, events, and collaborations focusing on tribal pedagogy, literacy, tribal language maintenance and support, higher education training, and publishing industry systems.
